Thank you<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Older People in Ceredigion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2021 Census showed an increase in the number of older people living in Ceredigion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;2011 Census &#8211; 21% of Ceredigion&#8217;s people were aged 65+<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Census 2021 &#8211; 26% of Ceredigion&#8217;s people were aged 65+<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">98% of people aged 65+ are working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many people aged 65+ provide unpaid Care to a friend or family member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Survey for Wales, 2022-23 reported that 21% of pensioners say they sometimes or always struggle to pay bills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Create an Age-friendly Ceredigion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Age Friendly Communities are places where older people, communities, policies, services, locations and structures work together in partnership to support us and enable us to age well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ceredigion.gov.uk\/preswyliwr\/lles-a-gofal\/cymorth-i-oedolion\/ceredigion-oed-gyfeillgar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Age Friendly Ceredigion &#8211; Ceredigion County Council<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Age Friendly Ceredigion Fund<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can apply for a maximum of \u00a3500 to enable you, as a community, to become more Age Friendly. You can join if you have reached state pension age or if you are living with a disability or long-term health condition. If you&#8217;re eligible, you&#8217;ll get a letter in October or November telling you how much you&#8217;ll get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is more information on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/taliad-tanwydd-gaeaf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UK Government website &#8211; Winter Fuel Payment<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have heard about the changes to the Winter Fuel Payments, be aware that you must apply for Pension Credit by 21 December 2024 to be eligible for the 2024 to 2025 Winter Fuel Payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pension Credit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pension Credit gives you extra money to help you with your living costs if you are over State Pension age and on a low income.
